Local Fall Attractions You Don’t Want to Miss

The sights of autumn are turning up in decorations, festivals, and the dazzling of colors of the fall foliage. Whether you’re a local or first-time visitor searching for an enjoyable activity, you will want to make note of some of these events happening around the region.   • October 2017 (whole month) – 6+ Acre Corn Maze, Scamman Farm, Stratham, NH
    This corn maze is fun during the day or a Friday night with lots of twists and turns in the paths through cornstalks towering up to 12-foot in height.
  • October 12-15, 2017 – New Hampshire Film Festival, Portsmouth, NH
    More than 100 films will be screened during the event. The festival includes a Young Filmmaker’s Workshop and closing ceremonies with presentation of the Granny Awards.
  • October 14, 2017 – New Hampshire Brew Fest, Portsmouth, NH
    Admission includes entry, sampler cup, beer samples, live music and entertainment with three sessions at Redhook Ale Brewery.
  • October 14, 2017 – Family Fun Day, Stratham, NH
    This “Old-Home Day”- style community event for adults and children has it all when it comes to fun. From face painting and bubble soccer to live music and a colorful fireworks display at the end of the day. The event is a joint collaboration between Stratham Parks and Recreation and Stratham Memorial School PTO.
  • October 14, 2017 – York Harvestfest & Kidsfest, York Beach, ME
    Live music, local food, and juried crafters and old-fashioned market vendors fill this festival. The Kidsfest includes horse-drawn wagon rides, a pumpkin stroll, face painting, storytelling, and so much more. There’s something for the whole family.
  • October 16-22, 2017 – Harvest on the Harbor, Portland, ME
    Your taste buds will delight in feasting on culinary creations from some of Maine’s top chefs. The events include sampling at the marketplace, the Maine Lobster Chef of the Year Competition, and Grand Tasting on the Harbor.
  • October 20-22, 2107 – OgunquitFest, Ogunquit, ME
    Pumpkin decorating, scarecrow contest, costume parade, classic car show, craft show, wagon rides and more.
  • October 29, 2017 – Portland Comic Expo, Portland, ME
    Casablanca Comics presents the 2017 Portland Comic Expo, a one-day show featuring comic artists, dealers, cosplay, and programming.
